We met in high school through our church's youth group and have been best friends since. We went to dances together as friends, and when Jacob asked me to prom, COVID put our lives on hold.
We stayed in touch when Jacob went into the Army as an MP, and I transitioned to a more advanced degree program. After two years he was discharged from the military and things returned to the way they were before.
Throughout the years we approached each other about starting a romantic relationship but it was not until 2023 that we felt that the Holy Spirit was calling us into a new stage of life with one another.
We went mini golfing on our first date & less than six months later Jacob proposed during a water lantern festival, he wrote the question on the side of his lantern, and we got the chance to launch it into the water afterwards.
We enjoy doing bible studies together and strive to have a marriage that is God-honoring and represents Christ and the Church as God intended (Ephesians 5:22-32). We challenge each other to become better in every way, striving to better ourselves and each other as we grow in this next stage of life.
