Jake and Casey’s love story began in the summer of 2022, when their paths crossed through mutual friends. What started as a casual connection quickly grew into something special, and by August 9, 2022—just over a month after they met—they officially became a couple. The two quickly grew inseparable, sharing countless memories and laughter.

Fast forward to September 5, 2024—the day Jake proposed. Casey was told they were headed to a charity event at Georgia Southern, so she and Jake got ready and were told they needed to go pick up the tickets. When they went to get the tickets, they were sent to 3 different places. Casey didn't realize it then but they were stalling to allow time for her family to arrive.

When they finally got the "tickets", Jake called his dad to let him know they were on the way home. Mr. Todd told Jake that he saw a baby deer on the woodline earlier and to check to see if it was still there. When they got to the house, Jake drove to the woodline and they got out the car. Once they walked close enough to it, Casey realized it was a fake deer. If you know Mr. Todd, you know he is the biggest prankster, so Casey thought he was tricking them. That is when Jake got down on one knee and asked Casey to marry him. She of course said yes! Jake and Casey celebrated their engagement surrounded by family, enjoying a delicious hibachi dinner prepared right in front of them in the backyard.
