The universe, Lord Jesus Christ, the Nordic deities and all forces of nature were working in our favor the day we met. Unfortunately, both of us were in very dark places in our lives from former broken things, but alas, our paths crossed at a stage gig at the Aria hotel in Las Vegas. Zack was working as the Master Electrician for a traveling company based out of Salt Lake City, and I was working for a staging company in Las Vegas that produced shows like the Grammy's and Billboard Awards. This particular gig was a corporate event where the band "Styx" was hired to play. I was working as a lighting tech and Zack was my lead.

The first moment I saw him, he was wearing a black doo-rag, sipping on a Red Bull and walking around animating at everyone (he is incredibly loud and goofy like me!) with his shoelaces flopping about from his untied steel toe boots. I remember thinking to myself, "I like him, he's gonna be a fun lead... but no way." The thought of dating at that time in my life was completely off the table. Zack describes the first moment he saw me as: "A beautiful woman sitting on a road case in her show blacks, no make up on and a cute little hard hat. You looked so sad and displaced, but I knew there was more to you. My heart absolutely had to find out!"

Days later during the week-long gig, he told me he would love to hire me for a big event at Mandalay Bay that he works every year and asked for my number. Crafty bastard! But the joke was on me... there really WAS a gig that he hired me for, but amidst talking on the phone for hours on end and texting "The Office" quotes and crude jokes back and forth for weeks, somewhere along the way, we completely fell in love.

Three months later, he asked me to move to Salt Lake City, and now our tale carries on.

Our continued support and boundless love for one another has grown to serve us even during the worst of times, including sickness, poverty, and death. We have been together without a beat ever since our initial meeting on February 5, 2023.
