How It All Began

Our story started at Tony’s on Top on Main Street, where fate (and a little help from Facebook) first brought us together. Kasey was the one who reached out to Jerry, and we hit it off right away, spending time together and building a connection. But life had other plans—Kasey was heading back to Kansas to continue her architecture degree, and though our spark never fully faded, time and distance pulled us apart.

For over a decade, that ember quietly burned, waiting for the right moment. Then, one day, we reconnected on Facebook, and just like that, it was as if no time had passed. Looking back, we truly believe that God kept us apart until we had grown into the people we were meant to be—for ourselves and for each other.

Falling in Love

From the very first date after reconnecting, we both felt it—this was different. Being together felt effortless, like coming home. We talked for hours, opening up about everything. There was fun, laughter, and a deep sense of comfort. But it wasn’t until we spent an entire summer attending weddings together that we knew, without a doubt, that we were each other’s forever.

Our relationship is built on balance and teamwork. Kasey is the planner—the big-picture thinker—while Jerry is the one who takes care of the day-to-day. We joke that Kasey runs the household, and Jerry keeps it running smoothly. He’s the chef and laundry expert, while she manages the finances and homemaking. We each focus on our strengths but always come together as a team. It’s a perfect balance, built on love and respect.

Jerry loves Kasey’s drive and motivation to be a better person every day, and Kasey loves Jerry’s caring heart, always putting others before himself. Together, we push each other to grow, to love more deeply, and to appreciate the little things in life.

The Proposal

Jerry knew he had to find the perfect place to propose—somewhere that truly reflected Kasey’s passions and personality. The Garden Glow at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens was an easy choice—beautiful, peaceful, and filled with her favorite thing: plants!

What he didn’t expect was just how nerve-wracking it would be. Hands shaking, heart racing, he kept putting it off throughout the night, searching for the “perfect” moment. Then it hit him—there was no perfect moment. The perfect moment was now.

Under the mistletoe, surrounded by twinkling lights and with her parents watching, Jerry finally dropped to one knee, voice trembling, hands unsteady, and asked Kasey to be his wife. The answer was, of course, an easy yes.

Kasey had a feeling the proposal was coming soon, but she never expected it that night. Smiling from ear to ear, with a few happy tears slipping out, she said yes to forever. As we rode back home in the backseat of her parents’ car, Kasey resting on Jerry’s shoulder, we couldn’t help but feel like two kids coming home from prom—except this time, we had forever in our eyes.

Looking Ahead

As we plan our wedding, we can’t wait to start the next chapter of our lives together—buying our first home, starting our family, and traveling the world side by side. We are so grateful for the journey that led us here, and we’re beyond excited to celebrate with the people who have been part of our story all along.
