Blake and I met Halloween in 2017 at Retro. We shared a friendship that lasted for six years.

Fast forward to 2023—when fate (and a leaky ceiling) decided to intervene. One day, my downstairs neighbor knocked on my door with some alarming news: "Umm... water is leaking from my bathroom ceiling." Panic set in, but without hesitation, I called the one person I trusted to help—Blake.

Less than 24 hours later, he showed up to fix the issue, and we spent the next few weeks reconnecting, when Blake asked me out.

The timing? Of course—I had a flight booked to visit my mom in South Carolina. But in another twist of fate, my flight was mysteriously canceled (for no apparent reason), and I had to reschedule my trip for the following weekend. I texted Blake to let him know, and—me being me—also told him: "I’m super grumpy today, but I’m free tomorrow." 😅

That "tomorrow" turned into our first official date at Vicinato Kitchen on October 21, 2023—and we've been inseparable ever since.

Then, on the most magical day—September 15, 2025—while we were in Positano, Blake completely surprised me with the most beautiful proposal. It was perfect in every way.

Every single day, I’m thankful for that flooded bathroom and for the love story I never saw coming—but always hoped for.

We can't wait for this next chapter and to celebrate with everyone we love on Sept 17 2026
