Well, here’s our story.

On June 26, 2023, fate decided to have a little fun. Both single and living in different states, Jonnie and Kory’s paths crossed on a dating app you might recognize—Bumble. 🐝

Jonnie was in North Carolina visiting a friend, and on her very last night there, she opened the app—just for fun—never expecting that one simple decision would change her life forever.

That’s when she saw it: a new message request that read:
“Hey! Just wanted to say I love your Jeep. I had a couple. The 4.0 was a great engine.”

It was thoughtful, genuine, and instantly stood out to her. What started as a quick chat about Jeeps soon turned into hours of conversation—stories, laughter, and a spark that neither of them could ignore. The only catch? Jonnie was heading back to New York in just a few hours.

But that didn’t stop them. They exchanged numbers, added each other on social media, and continued talking day and night. Through texts, FaceTime calls, and 500 miles of distance, something real began to grow.

Exactly one month later, on July 26th, Jonnie boarded United Airlines Flight #2289 to Chicago, connecting to Charlotte. After a long night of airport delays and very little sleep, she finally arrived—and there he was. Waiting at baggage claim, smiling wide, stood Kory. Their first meeting in person felt like a scene out of a movie—Jonnie running into his arms, both of them grinning ear to ear.

For the next ten days, they were inseparable. They explored, laughed, learned each other’s quirks, and fell even deeper in love. By the time that trip ended, it was clear—this was something worth holding onto. Before long, plans were already in motion for Jonnie’s big move to North Carolina.

On August 26th, Kory flew from Charlotte to Rochester to meet Jonnie’s family, and two days later—August 28, 2023—Jonnie and Kory packed up her Jeep, loaded the essentials, and made the 500-mile drive together to start their new chapter.

Two years later, on August 28, 2025, standing at the end of that same road they once began, Kory got down on one knee and asked Jonnie to marry him. The moment was perfect—full-circle, heartfelt, and sweeter than honey.

And that’s where it all ties in. From Bumble to forever, their love story has always been about connection—two people finding each other through a little bit of fate, a lot of love, and the belief that the sweetest things in life are worth waiting for. ♡︎
