Isaiah's Perspective:

I had just got off of work, and I decided to take the long way home from work that day. Then I saw Joy drive pass me on the road. I thought to myself, "She looked very pretty." She drove into the CVS parking lot, so I drove into the parking lot. As I was pulling up, she was walking into the store. So, I pulled up next to her and asked for her number and thankfully I got it lol. We went out for a picnic at the park by the lake that same weekend. From then on, we have been in each other's lives and now have a cat and two dogs and are excited to continue the remainder of our lives following our wedding.

Joy's Perspective:

Imagine me, minding my own business in a new town and putting the most traumatic test behind me, not thinking of the results. That was me in August 2021, fresh in Hobbs, in my Jeep Renegade who I fondly named Harlee. I had recently began work at the Law Offices of the Public Defender as a Law Clerk awaiting the dreaded bar results that could make or break the beginning of my legal career.

Being from an even more rural setting of Prentiss, Mississippi, I was overly excited to be in Hobbs, America where there was not just a Walmart, CVS, and Walgreens, but also a plethora of places to eat like my favorite place - Texas Roadhouse. Living near the CVS, I decided to do one of my favorite things - go shopping with a coupon thanks to my Mom.

Walking in a rush to the door, I was caught off guard when this Nissan Xterra pulled up on me. And y'all I entertained the conversation when I normally would walk off from anyone pulling up beside me in their vehicle because I do not know you sir/ma'am. But it was Isaiah. I decided to give him my number because I thought it was cute and he was too.

Shortly after, we went on a picnic date - both not knowing how much one another loved the outdoors and have been on many adventures together and learned each other along the way. I look forward to choosing forever with Isaiah and having many more adventures to come - whether it be national or international, with the pets in tow, or our future children. Here's to growing gray and old together :)
