This is a short story of how Joyce and Kenneth are getting married after 12 years.

Joyce and Kenenth met in high school and bonded through common classes and slightly above average grades. Kenneth loved playing video games, staying inside, and staying in his routines. Joyce loved trying new things, acting spontaneously, and acting before thinking; a perfect match for each other. Without knowing it, they were writing their first chapter together as they finished high school and college.

After graduating, they traversed their professional lives together and enjoyed all the small things: trying new cuisines in their backyard, visiting their local arcade (really often), making trips to their local park for after-work walks, and spontaneous minigolf. Eventually, they crossed off a few countries and states from their checklist. Everything they did together felt magical. Nothing felt boring or out of place, as long as they were together.

Finally, Kenneth decided that it was time to propose. After 11 years in the making, he popped the question in Carmel, CA, the same place as their first date that held a special place in both of their hearts. Joyce accepted without hesitation and they spent the next half hour sobbing together as they reflected on the long journey behind them, but also what came next for them.
