Our Story

How We Met

Picture of How We Met

We met in 2020 on Facebook dating in Allentown, PA. One of the questions on the dating app was "What song is playing on repeat in your playlist?" Brian listed the song Oh My My by Blue October. I decided to give it a listen and loved the song! Decided to reach out and see what else this guy was all about.

After meeting each other we found many things in common! We both have a love for video games, music, bowling, and animals that brought us together. We would spend endless hours on the phone talking to each other after work going well into the night. We knew we found something special and couldn't wait to see where this took us. Even today we try and see Blue October in concert whenever we can since the band is so special to us.

But we had one major obstacle in our way - would our babies (cats) co-exist?

Our Fur Babies

Bringing multiple animals into one living space is never easy, let alone 5 cats but somehow we made it work. On Brian's side we have a tuxedo named Luna and a solid black sweetheart named Willow. On Jules' side, we have the friendly orange tabby Chester, the crazy-eyed tortie Liliana, and the photogenic baby Apollo.

Bringing these vastly different personalities into one house was not easy, and sometimes looking back I have no idea how we made it through those first few weeks. Eventually, everything fell into place and peace was introduced to the household. Friendships were made and any chance to bully mom and dad into serving wet food was taken.

The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

Brian proposed on 11/11/22 at the Keeper of the Plains in Wichita KS. The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot tall steel sculpture standing at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita. This land between the two rivers is sacred ground to the Native American people. The sculpture and installation of the Keeper of the Plains plaza surrounding the statue brings people out each evening to see the Keeper and the lit fire pots that surround it, known as the Ring of Fire.

Brian asked this question in front of both our families as the ring of fire was lit that night. He completely convinced me that he was going to ask in December and I was 100% surprised. Don't ask to see the video, as I had no idea what was going on and actually walked away from him at first! Whoops!

We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with the ceremony in Alaska and a party in Kansas! We hope to see you all there!
