We first met when Kacey's roommate, Jenna, brought her to a party at my house in 2014. Through the years we became close friends, spending time at concerts and tailgates together with friends. I fell for her first, but the timing wasn't right. After several years of dating other people, the stars finally aligned and we were both available at the same time. Then came months of trying to convince her to give us a shot. Kacey finally decided to give it a chance after her friend Bec brought her out to see me one night in Starkville. I was living in Brandon at the time, and was coming home on the weekends house-hunting. We went on our first "Real Date" on December 1, 2018. Several more weekend dates followed until I was able to move back to Starkville in May 2019. From there our relationship grew better and stronger. I taught her to enjoy taking things easy, and she taught me to enjoy going places and experiencing new things. Since then, our adventures have taken us to 9 States, multiple concerts, restaurants, ballgames, weddings, and even the Grand Canyon. Our most important trip was on July 2, 2020. We decided to bring our friends Peyton and Anna to Kacey's hometown for the holiday weekend. After a dinner at Uncle Micks (Kacey's favorite), we decided to walk around downtown Prattville. While stopping for a picture at the Pratt Cotton Mill Dam, I got down on one knee and (shakily) asked Kacey to marry me. At least, I think I did. I was so nervous, I have no clue what I said.
