We met at a church campout in high school, I was a senior and Kasey was a freshman. Life took its twists and turns leading us both on different adventures. 11 years later, spring of 2023, Kasey messaged me on Instagram to see how I was doing. We briefly chatted, but not romantically at all. In fact, I was shocked he even reached out!

Months passed, and I made the decision to finish my degree and moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Little did I know, Kasey was living an hour and a half away in Thayne, Wyoming. He called me and asked if I wanted to meet up in Jackson Hole for the weekend... and I went for it.

We picked up right where we left off as friends, but I knew. I knew it was him all along. He was technically my first love in high school and seeing him again gave me all the butterflies and excitement I once had.

After catching up on the past 10 years of life, we continued to see each other until I graduated in December. We both went home for the holidays and I was deciding what I wanted to do with my life.

I met him one night with a list. The Ultimatum List. I told him everything I expect in a partner and what I am looking for. I told him what my 5 year plan and goals were. I told him he doesn't check all of my boxes, but I know he can, and I'm willing to give him a chance... he just has to decide he wants to check all my boxes.

Kasey took off to Hawaii for 10 days, and had time to think about it. While in Hawaii, he said his entire family is going in February and he wanted me to come. He wanted ME to come on his FAMILY VACATION. In 3 weeks. And we weren't dating. So as a friend.... Little did I know, his parents saw how happy we were together and planted this little seed. And I am so grateful.

I said yes to Hawaii. In those three weeks, I decided to move back to Utah and find a job. Kasey moved me there and while driving, told me he was ready to check all the boxes. We arrived to Utah and that night I wrote in my journal "I just made the biggest mistake of my life. Utah is not where I am suppose to be".

I went to Hawaii with the Self family and fell in love with Kasey. Immediately after coming back, I decided to move back to Washington and go with my gut. We have had so many adventures since then, but it has been with out a doubt the best leap of faith I've ever taken!

Kasey and I are thrilled to start our life together and can't wait to be married! Fall of 2025 we will be sealed for eternity in the Laie, Hawaii temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
