I remember the first day of orientation our D1 year of dental school sitting at a table with some of my new classmates. I immediately noticed a GORGEOUS girl sitting across from me and was impressed by how friendly and sweet she was. I remember thinking to myself this is the kind of girl I want to end up with. I assumed she was too cute and nice to be single, and I was correct...for the time-being. I didn't think anything else of it and spent the rest of the semester occupied with trying to make it through our courses. Fast forward to the end of the semester and I find out from my friends that the same girl has been asking about me all semester. I finally worked up the courage to talk to her at the class happy hour the last night of the fall semester. Our friends say I didn't talk to anyone else or about anyone else the rest of the evening- it felt like I was talking to the person I had been missing my entire life. Luckily our friends posed for some photographic evidence of this first encounter (see the photo below)! At the end of the evening, I asked her on a date the next day- much to my dismay she was already going on one. I spent the rest of Christmas break texting and talking my way into a date with her and eventually succeeded right before classes resumed in the spring. Since then, we have been inseparable and our love for each other has only grown. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with Kate and I'm so excited for what the future holds for us!
I remember seeing Drew for the first time on our first day of orientation for school. I asked if I could sit at a table that he and several other of our classmates were sitting at while we waited for the next orientation event. I was drawn to him immediately and knew there was something special about him. It was a feeling I never experienced before! He was so friendly with everyone around him and made an effort to make everyone feel comfortable. We talked a little bit but it wasn't long before we had to go to our next orientation event. He was so talkative at orientation I figured I'd easily be able to talk to him again after school began, right? WRONG! This started about a four month span where we would pass each other in the hallways at school and not say anything to each other. I would get too nervous to say anything and he didn't exactly make it easy! All my family and friends knew I was interested in Drew, so thankfully, with a little help from them (thanks Grant and Layne!), we spent the whole night making up for lost time when our class went out to celebrate being done with finals for the semester. Since then, Drew has become my best friend, my favorite travel partner, and my biggest supporter during dental school. Drew is the man of my dreams and I can't wait to begin our life together! Some pictures of our favorite memories together are below!
