Kennedy and I met through work, but not quite how you would imagine when someone tells you that. I began working at the Home Depot in October of 2019 and Kennedy’s mom also works there. Due to COVID, schools shut down and students were sent home. Kennedy decided it was time to meet “Depot Boy” for herself and began visiting her mom at work and bringing in sweet treats to get my attention. Being the dumb guy I am, this went on for a few months with me thinking she was just using us as her baking test subjects and nothing more. In January of 2021, I got a message on Instagram from Kennedy asking if I’d like to go out for coffee and get to know each other. I was shocked and excited, but I decided to act like I was really busy and lined up this coffee date for the following week. Needless to say we hit it off and in February we made our relationship official as boyfriend and girlfriend, and in October of 2022 I asked Kennedy to marry me! Now as we enjoy our time as Fiancé’s, we also look forward to celebrating our special day with all of you! See you all on June 14, 2024!
While away at college, my mom texted me saying that there was a new boy at her work, and he made his own lunch (something that I never had to do). I didn't think much of it since I had just moved over an hour away from home.
Once being sent home due to COVID, I decided to use my quarantine hobby of baking to bring in macarons (a conveniently gluten-free cookie) to Home Depot... for no other reason than to visit my mom of course ;) Each time, Gideon would make his way over to my mom's desk and chat with me and a coworker.
I reached out to Gideon in January of 2021, asking him on a coffee date. After he agreed, Gideon then made me wait, full of anxiety, for almost a week before going on our first date. On January 14, 2021, we went to Outside Coffee Co.
On February 24, 2021, he asked me to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of one of our favorite stores, Target (since its a good midpoint between the two of us)! We love spending time at the beach- enjoying God's creation. Often times, we pack a picnic dinner and set out to watch the sunset. After visiting Saugutuck State Park multiple times, Gideon spotted a bench that has an amazing views for watching the sunset, but it was always taken. He promised me that we would get to watch the sunset on the bench someday. On October 15, 2022, Gideon fulfilled that promise. He brought me to the bench and proposed!
