Our story begins the summer of 2015. Colby often had friends down to the dock at the lake to fish and enjoy good company. Kerri was living in Valdosta at the time and would drive back home on the weekends to catch up with friends and spend time with family. One of Kerri's close high school friends had invited her over to the dock one night after driving into town. If you know Kerri, there's no way she would ever decline an invite to the lake, especially at sunset! Little did she know that she was about to meet her future husband for the first time. The same guy her friend had been trying to set her up with for months as she insisted that they would be a perfect match. Boy was she right.
The immediate connection and comfortability around each other made it feel like they had known each other for a life time.
The weekend flew by so fast, but there was no way they could bare never seeing each other again. They talked every day and remained friends for quite sometime. Soon it wasn't hard to deny the effortless connection that they had formed with one another. Trips coming home for Kerri suddenly included making time to see Colby and vise versa. They actually made so many trips to see each other Colby ended up buying his brothers car so that he wouldn't put any more miles on his truck by driving down to Valdosta.
No matter how hard Kerri tried to play "hard to get" she couldn't deny the fact that she had found the man of her dreams. Someone she had prayed for throughout her young adult life. A hard working man who is also adventurous, loving and most importantly, patient. Someone who can be a light house in a storm. Kerri would say the moment she knew Colby was "the one" was when he selflessly gave up his bed for her as he slept on the floor after a late night of drinking games and singing along to the guitar.
Colby knew he had found someone who is smart, full of love and compassion, and someone who has one of the kindest hearts. The moment that he knew Kerri was "the one" was after their unforgettable first date, or maybe when he realized how good she was at fishing...
Throughout the 8 growing years together we have enjoyed so much, and we can't wait to build onto the many memories we already have. We are so excited to share our big day with all of you and celebrate this new chapter in life as husband and wife!
