Our Wedding

Sometimes, timing is everything — and sometimes, love has a way of finding you when the timing is right. Our story actually began in July 2023, when Kevin’s old friends and Yvettes roomate (Savannah) thought shed play cupid and set us up on a blind date. Kevin was excited, and Yvette just as curious — but as life would have it, our timing was completely off. We never ended up meeting that day - despite best efforts from both parties to arrive early. Life was busy, and we both were in different places, so nothing came of it. We went our separate ways without ever meeting in person. Fast forward a whole year later. In 2024, after taking time to work on ourselves and grow individually, fate (and a little app called Hinge) brought us back together. We both swiped right, instantly recognizing each other from that almost-blind-date a year prior. This time, Kevin wasn’t going to miss his chance. He shot his shot (again) and messaged, “Any chance I can have another shot at taking you out?” — and lucky for him, Yvette said yes. Our first official date was at Voga Gelato (Yvettes absolute favorite ice cream spot). Kevin wasn’t just hooked on the gelato that day — he was completely hooked on Yvette. He quickly realized her funny, down-to-earth personality, and most importantly, they both shared the same love for God. Late-night texts turned into longer phone calls. Dates turned into adventures around Atlanta — picnics, exploring the city, trying new foods, attending church together, and diving deeper into meaningful conversations about our futures. What we quickly realized was that every time we talked about the future — our dreams, hopes, and purpose — our visions always aligned. It was clear that God had been preparing us for each other all along, even when we didn’t realize it. Along the way, we started saying “YAMF” — which stands for “You Are My Favorite.” It became our little slogan that captured exactly how we felt about each other. On January 25, 2024, Kevin made sure to turn those words into a lifelong promise. Looking back, it’s so clear that Gods timing was perfect all along. A year apart allowed us to become the best versions of ourselves so that when we finally came together, we were ready to love each other the way we deserved. We can’t wait to start this next chapter together — and we’re so grateful you’re here to celebrate it with us. YAMF, always. ❤️
