While bored one night, Kitt was on the dating app, Hinge, and swiped right on Chris. 


Chris was newly separated and wanted to start dating again but was not looking for anything serious. Little did they know what God had in store for them! 


They matched, spoke briefly, and agreed to continue their conversation later in the week. A couple days later the conversation reignited and we talked until 4 in the morning almost every night. On April 24, 2022- Chris asked Kitt if she wanted to go on a date the next evening.

Leading up to our first date, we were both extremely nervous yet excited. We knew so much about each other but we had yet to meet in person. Chris surprised Kitt with flowers and a card that read “I cannot wait to see you”. 


Later that evening, Chris picked Kitt up and they made the long drive (4 blocks) to The Brass Rail. We talked over dinner and drinks for hours. We felt so comfortable with each other and decided to go back to Kitt’s house to watch a movie together- we didn’t want the night to end. Although Kitt had told her family she was going out with Chris “just as friends because he had a lot going on”, she knew after that night that she had found her other half.


Our first date was on Monday, we went on a second date Thursday, and a third on Friday. After that we both knew we were all in. We haven’t spent more than a couple days apart since then! 


Chris met Kitt’s family at her house on Mother’s Day. Everyone got along really well, conversation flowed easily, and Kitt’s family didn’t scare Chris off- even though they tried with horrifying and embarrassing stories. Kitt’s mom, April, sent her this text after dinner.

During the first seven months of dating, they were bouncing between both their houses. Trying to maintain two homes was taking its toll on them and it was decided that Chris was going to break his lease early. It was on this day that Chris, Addison, and Chase officially moved out of their rental house and moved in with Kitt. We were all finally under one roof for good.

Chris had told Kitt he wanted to take some family pictures at the beach in New Buffalo. He made sure she had a new dress and her nails done. Upon arrival, Chris stated he needed to use the restroom. Kitt was so glad he said something because she needed to go too. He panicked and said “why do you need to go, why don’t you stay here?” Kitt laughed it off and stayed with Chase and Addie. Once he returned, we all began walking on the path up the sand dune. At the plateau, it was at this time that Kitt saw flowers, a sign, a photographer, and her family. Chris stopped her in front of the “Marry Me” sign, asked for her hands from Chase and Addie, and told Kitt he couldn’t imagine his life without her. Chase and Addison then asked Kitt if she would be their Bonus Mom to which she couldn’t say “yes” quick enough. Chris then got on one knee and asked Kitt to spend the rest of their lives together and it was an immediate “yes”! Chris slipped Kitt’s dream ring on her finger which she expressed her approval with a few choice words (sorry Mom)! It was then that Chris shared he had a microphone on and the photographer was actually a videographer and everything was being recorded. The proposal was better than anything Kitt had ever dreamed of. 


Special shoutout to Kitt’s sister, Courtney, for planning everything, Kitt’s mom for coordinating the videographer, Kitt’s brother in law, Mason, for putting the microphone on Chris and then running up a sand dune because Kitt was already walking on the path, and to Kitt’s dad for rescheduling a work trip so Chris could include Chase and Addie in the proposal. Also thank you to Kitt’s sister and brother in law, Carly and Garrett, Kitt’s brother, Blake, Kitt’s grandparents, Yaya and Grammy, and Kitt’s best friend, Brandi for being there on this day.

While the same last name does not define a family, Chris, Kitt, Addison, and Chase cannot wait until the day when they all share the Jones last name!
