All The Things

Picture of All The Things

God has quite a sense of humor! 🀣
We both had just endured heartbreak. Was not looking for anything or anyone else to talk to. But a friend of my (Krystal) mom's and her got to talking, and thought it would be a good thing for us to meet and be friends! So mom gave her my number to give to Justin...
Justin said he was about to throw it out and was like, I don't want anymore friends... But then he felt he should keep it... waited a few days, and then texted.
We found out we both went to the same church. Both talked about hanging out sometime as friends.
Our first time hanging out at a coffee shop, he insisted on paying. We talked for 3 hours and then while going to the car he opened my door. I laughed and said "oh, I'm not used to that." And he said, "Well if you're around me, you'll get used to it" πŸ™‚
We talked about wanting to just be friends, and as we said goodbye, he said, "Well, if we're meant to be more than friends, then it's a God thing for sure. But we will see what happens!" And I smiled and said, "Okay". Meanwhile thinking, 'nope. Just friends. He is too young for me, he smokes, etc going through the list in my head.' πŸ˜‚
Three months later, chatting over text, he tells me he "quit smoking", and he was shocked cause he was not even craving it. He said it was "totally God." That he would talk to me soon, had to get back to work.
The next morning he told me he almost died in an accident! Five minutes after we texted, the truck he was a passenger in, lost it's brakes and he went off a cliff!
I instantly posted a prayer request and was praying for his and his coworkers recovery!
Still to this day, Justin believes that brought us closer, cause he had some time off from work to heal. And we were able to spend more time together.
Two months later, Justin asked, "You've been hurt so bad... But I want you to know, I would love and cherish you more than anyone in this earth! Give me a chance... I want to be more than friends. Will you give me a chance?" I told him I'd pray about it over the weekend as I went away with my sister's...
God kept nudging. I kept doubting... I was so guarded... But when I got home that night, I agreed and said, "Okay. Let's see how it goes!" And the rest is crazy, challenging, silly love life history!

Moments of overwhelming growth and gratitude, challenges changing our hearts and the way we see things and allowing God to use all of our messes, to create a new and beautiful message!

On Christmas Day, surrounded by my family, as we all were opening a gift. My dad handed me one and said "this is from Justin." And I went to open the box and inside was a locket. I opened it and read aloud a note carved in it saying, "Krystal, will you marry me?" - of course I said, "Yes!" πŸ˜‚

We're excited for this New chapter of life!
Looking forward to sharing our special day with you all!
