In Summer 2021, Laura and Charley met while sharing the same summer house with a group of mutual friends in Montauk, NY (also known as “The End”). The first night, Laura & Charley sat next to each other at dinner and gabbed all night about similar backgrounds the two shared. The following morning Laura, Charley and a few other ladies in the house ventured to town in search of breakfast. The lines were long at the popular spots, so the crew decided to settle on a grocery store. Charley noticed Laura as a stand-out girl in the house when she bought a family sized rigatoni when all the other girls got salads - what a unique woman he thought. They had their first date the following week back in the city (naturally, he chose an Italian Restaurant), and the rest was history.

A few months later, Charley received an incredible job offer from a Hedge Fund in San Francisco. Charley rented a bungalow in Sausalito, and the two travelled there for New Years to explore and see if it was a fit for both. He accepted the job and moved to San Francisco in the Spring. Laura wrapped up her life in New York and followed him out to San Francisco at the end of Summer. The following March, Laura convinced Charley to purchase a puppy while on a getaway to Half Moon Bay. Twenty minutes later, he surprised Laura and popped the question! Laura still jokes about if he said yes to the puppy because he was nervous! Life came full circle- in October 2023 Charley, Laura & Ponzu moved to Sausalito!
