Rusty and Laura were introduced through a friend- named Ana. Facetimed and started following one another on instagram.
Rusty slid into Laura's Dm's on insta. After messaging one another for a bit, Laura shared her phone number and their friendship began. <3

Laura and Rusty met at Philz Coffee in Campbell for the first time in person. They had been texting back and forth and finally met up. They both drank a mint mojito, talked for a few hours and took a walk in the neighborhood. Rusty gifted Laura, the novel East of Eden by John Steinbeck and wrote a note to her. Laura didn't find the sweet note till months later.
January 23, 2022
Russell and Laura went out on their first date. Russell showed up with flowers to Campbell to meet up for a bike ride. Russell and Laura spent the day riding their bikes through the Campbell trail. After the bike ride, Laura and Rusty walked to the local Trader Joes and went grocery shopping together. Soon after that, they had dinner at Lunas then walked back to Laura's apartment. Before Russell left, he read to Laura an excerpt from her favorite book and had their first kiss. And that's where this love story began.....

January 21, was a magical day in Texas.
It started with brunch in downtown San Antonio with a live serenade singing Besame Mucho. Rusty and Laura then explore the city and authentic Tex-Mex food all day! In the evening, Rusty and Laura write their names on love locks and place them on the Lock Bridge in San Antonio. They toss the keys in the water and say Forever to one another! Soon after that, they decide to go on the night boat cruise down the river to explore more of the magical city. Before the night could end, Rusty asks Laura if she wants to go check out Marriage Island. He says, “let’s go see if it’s really shaped like a heart.” There, Rusty gets on one knee and asks Laura to marry him. She says YES! Before heading up to their hotel, Rusty and Laura celebrate at the Coyote Ugly Bar!
Rusty proposed to Laura in San Antonio, Texas on their 1 year anniversary trip! He asked Laura on Marriage Island. It's a San Antonio legend that Couples who exchange vows or propose on the heart-shaped bit of land known as Marriage Island will be blessed with many happy years. It is also shaped like a heart.
