Lizzie and Jake have their two brothers to thank for introducing them so early. Their brothers, Aedan and Pat, went to preschool together 15 years ago and the Egan and Lippe families have been friends ever since.
Lizzie and Jake went to different schools growing up, so they didn't "officially" start becoming friends until 8th grade when they were graduating to move onto Port High together.
Lizzie and Jake went throughout high school being the best of friends. They hung out in the same friend group, cheered eachother on at different sporting events, and took turns tp-ing each other's houses. Although everyone else knew there was a "spark" between the two, they denied this "spark" until the very end of senior year.
After not being able to deny the spark from friends and family, Lizzie and Jake "offically" started their relationship right before heading to two different colleges 8 hours apart.
Long distance was no small feat for Lizzie and Jake. Lizzie and Jake made the distance work with countless facetime calls, flights, long.. very long 8 hour car rides, and constantly reminding eachother that it wouldn't last forever.
Fast forward 3 years later - they finally finished the distance. Lizzie graduated a year early and moved up to North Dakota. Two degrees under the couples belt and one more to go for Jake as he finishes up his MBA.
If you have made it this far reading about the couples love story you are probably wondering how Jake finally popped the question?
After 4 years of building a loving and strong relationship, Jake asked Lizzie to marry him in Monterey, California. The proposal was perfect (hard to mess up with Lizzie constantly showing Jake her pinterest engagement board) and Lizzie could not have been more surprised (which is hard to do).
The couple have both been dreaming of this day and they cannot wait to celebrate with their family and friends this upcoming May.
