Mall of America is conveniently located on the opposite street corner of WhirlyBall Bloomington. This area is about a 20 minute drive or 40 minute light rail trip away.
If you've never been to Minneapolis, the best time to visit Mall of America would be on Friday in the 2-4 hours before WhirlyBall on Friday night, 2pm-6pm.
