Our Story
Mansi remembers the first time she saw Tom. It was her first week as an intern at OpenTable and there was a dreamy, tall guy on her team that everyone seemed to love. She dubbed this dream guy “Hot Work Tom” (behind his back, of course).
Tom remembers the first time he saw Mansi. They were sitting next to each other at her OpenTable welcome lunch. He remembers that she was pretty, but mostly he remembers that she didn’t laugh at any of his jokes.
Years passed of being cordial coworkers until an infamous birthday party where Mansi found out that Tom liked her too. This is how their love story started: at a ‘Nickelback & Picklebacks’ themed birthday party with Tom dressed up like infamous lead singer Chad Kroeger.
It’s safe to say themed parties have been a big part of Mansi and Tom’s relationship. From Nickelback & Picklebacks to Emo Night to winning OpenTable’s “Under the Sea” costume contest, they never shy away from the opportunity to get dressed up.
Over the years, they have gone from co-workers, to a couple, to roommates, and – most recently – to crazy cat parents. (Shoutout to Jax!)
No matter what challenge comes their way, like moving in together 2 months before a global pandemic, Tom and Mansi know that their love and best friendship will continue to grow. So exactly 5 years after ‘Nickleback & Picklebacks,’ Tom and Mansi can’t wait to celebrate their relationship with all the family and friends that love them despite their questionable costume choices.
