About 1 hour south of Austin, New Braunfels is a beautiful historic Old German Texas town. It houses many restaurants, bars, and activities for kids and adults.

Fredericksburg is an amazing Old Texas German town in the heart of Texas Hill county and about 1.5-2 hours west of Austin. Fredericksburg is a wine lovers destination since it is home to almost 100 wineries and vineyards. There are also ample shops and restaurants on the main drag through town along with hotels and Airbnbs.

Rosita’s is a hole in the wall food truck in downtown Austin that has the best authentic tacos and frozen margaritas, with outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Located 1-2 hours north of Austin in Waco Texas, magnolia market is owned by the HGTV couple Chip and Johanna Gains. There’s shopping, sight seeing tours, and multiple food places.

McKinney Falls is a great walking park and trail close to downtown Austin. Fun fact, they’ve filmed several movie scenes at this particular park! Bring lots of water and food if you’d like to picnic while there. If you’re feeling adventurous you can even bring your swimming suit and jump in the upper or lower falls! You can get a day pass either online or at the park entrance.

Lazarus is a pub style joint in Austin that serves tap and can beer with a large selection of appetizers and food. This brewery has an amazing outdoor patio.

Barton Springs is a spring fed COLD natural pool available to the public in downtown Austin. You have to buy passes to be able to use the pool. It connects to the wildly popular, to Austin locals, Zilker Park which is a grassy area to just sit around and hang out. If you’re lucky there might be an event or live music happening in Zilker.

Buc-ee’s is THE GAS STATION. It has over 100 fuel pumps and the top rated gas station bathrooms in the nation. Be sure to go in get some beaver gear and snacks!!

Mason Texas holds a special place in the bride and grooms life. This is where the grooms side of the family has been hunting for over 40 years and the reason for Mason being named Mason. The couple often frequent Mason TX throughout the entire year. Some of our favorite spots are, Willow Creek Cafe, Murphy Creek Cellars, Underwood Antiques, Nell’s Antiques, and Mason County Collectables.
Mason is a very small town 2 hours Northwest of Austin.
