Matthew and Grace began talking in the summer of 2019!

On September 22, 2019 after the Franklin County High School Homecoming Dance, Matthew asked Grace to be his girlfriend!

Matthew and Grace dated throughout their last years of high school and all throughout college! They have spent time growing closer to the Lord and developing a relationship that is rooted in Christ. Throughout these years, Grace and Matthew went through all kinds of events.. Ranging from attending various high school events, their high school graduations, COVID lockdown and restrictions, family vacations, and a variety of college events! Grace started college at Eastern Kentucky University in the Fall of 2020 , studying Agriculture Education. Matthew started at Eastern Kentucky University in the Fall of 2021, studying Cyber Systems Technology. You know what everyone says, opposites attract! Both will be graduating in the Spring of 2024 from Eastern Kentucky University.

SHE SAID YES - On July 30th of 2022, Matthew planned the most romantic marriage proposal at Natural Bridge! For many weeks prior, Matthew carefully planned the engagement, bought the ring, and coordinated the whole event. Grace throughout this process was completely unaware. In order for Grace not to find out about everything, Matthew asked her father and mother, Shannon and Gwen McGaughey, for her hand in marriage while Grace got her wisdom teeth out! They were surrounded by close family and friends when Matthew popped the BIG question!

Now Matthew and Grace are carefully planning and anticipating their Wedding Day! They are so excited to continue toward their journey of becoming husband and wife!
