Drumtochty Castle
We invite you to join us at Drumtochty Castle. Built in the early 19th century and nestled in the wild woodland of Drumtochty glen, this neo-gothic mansion is located two hours north of Edinburgh and thirty minutes south of Aberdeen.
Accommodation
Drumtochty Castle can accommodate up to 107 guests, assigned to apartments (a concept similar to Airbnb) available in the wings, the stables, and lodges. Each apartment accommodates approximately 4 people.
Guests have the option of staying on the Estate for one or two nights. The per/person per/night cost also includes breakfast (a self-catered basket delivered to your room). While dinner is provided, bringing a few of your own favourite snacks and drinks is encouraged! Please note that there is no store available on the premises. The closest one is a 20 minute drive away!
If you decide to stay with us on the Drumtochty Estate, we would be delighted! The apartment booking and payment MUST be arranged through the Bride and Groom directly.
To book your accommodation, contact us as soon as possible by e-mail (mayamarcin2025@hotmail.com) and provide the following information:
1) arrival date/number of nights
2) names of people you would like to stay in the apartment with (we will do our best to arrange for this!)
3) any dietary restrictions
The cost p/person p/night starts at $135.00 (Canadian). Prices subject to change due to venue's annual price increase.
In response to your e-mail, we will confirm room availability and the final cost p/person p/night.
The booking deadline is January 31, 2025. The payment deadline is April 14, 2025.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there parking available at the castle?
Yes, there is plenty of car parking space at the castle. When guests arrive, they will be directed by a member of staff to the car park closest to your accommodation. There is also car parking available next to the church, allowing guests to drive to and from the ceremony if they wish.
Can guests book their accommodation through the castle?
No, guests book and pay for their accommodation directly through the Bride and Groom. The castle is unable to take bookings or payment for accommodation.
What time is check in and check out?
Check-in time is May 20th from 2:00pm, or May 21st from 10:00am. Check-out is at 12:00pm on May 22nd.
What amenities are included in the rooms?
Each room is equipped with towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer, and has access to an iron and ironing board.
Can I request to stay with friends or family?
When booking your accommodation with us, please let us know the names of the guests you'd like to stay with and we'll do our very best to arrange this. As mentioned above, each apartment accommodates approximately 4 people. If you are staying with us individually or as a couple, you will be sharing the common space of the flat with 2 or 3 other guests. Your room will be private with either a shared or individual bathroom.
What if I would like to stay off-site?
We completely understand the need for privacy and keeping to a budget while travelling. Please contact us directly if you need assistance with your search for a hotel/inn, short term rental, or Airbnb. If you decide to stay off-site, we strongly recommend pre-booking taxis for your travel to and from the venue. As previously mentioned, it is very difficult to arrange for a taxi last minute and there are NO Uber or Lyft rides in the surrounding area. The closest and best possible option for stays is the town of Stonehaven. You will not be able to stay in the Aberdeen area and travel to and from the venue without a significant fee and prolonged travel times, or your own rental vehicle.
