Megan and Jack both went to Northern Michigan University and knew of each other. Megan lived in Gant Hall and Jack lived across the building in Spaulding Hall. Megan and Jack never spoke while at University because Megan thought Jack was a greasy hippie and Jack was afraid of Megan. Both Jack and Megan were involved in Hall Government. In 2016, Megan was the President of Gant Hall and Jack was the Vice President of Spaulding Hall.
