Nathan and I met during our senior year of high school in AP Government. I had just transferred from Gprep to CV, and everything felt new and a little overwhelming. But on the very first day of school, Nathan and I crossed paths and instantly connected. It was one of those moments where everything just clicked. We didn’t know it yet, but that day would mark the start of something special.

Our first conversation was over the strangest topic—a school bell. We were both kind of puzzled by it, but we laughed and kept talking, and from then on, we didn’t stop. We shared so many conversations in the following weeks, and it quickly became clear we enjoyed each other’s company more than anything. Our first date was at a park where we played basketball together. It was simple, but it felt perfect. After that, we went to a football game, and soon after, we found ourselves at senior homecoming, where we made things official.

A year into our relationship, I moved to Texas for school, which was tough. But Nathan wasn’t about to let distance get in the way. Every Friday, he’d drive over two and a half hours just to pick me up and spend the weekend with me. After about six months of that, I started feeling really homesick and decided to transfer to GU. Nathan followed his own path and enrolled at Eastern, but no matter where we went, we stayed together.

The decision to get married was simple for us—we just knew. I remember at the football game, after all the excitement and noise, Nathan and I shared this hug. It felt like time stopped for a second. We both felt this sense of calm, as if we had found our place in the world, even though we barely knew each other. That was the moment we both realized we were meant to be together.

Our relationship is more than love—it’s deep, unshakeable friendship. Nathan and I are best friends, and we can’t wait to spend our lives, laughing and growing together. We’ve supported each other through the good, the bad, and the ugly. We’ve seen each other at our best and at our worst, but through it all, we never give up.

We see marriage as an opportunity—a chance to support each other’s dreams. Nathan has aspirations of going to medical school, and I want to continue my education and get my master’s or doctorate. Together, we’re ready to take on whatever life throws our way. We’re excited to embark on this next chapter, hand in hand.
