Nick was introduced to Molly in August of 2021 not in the most expected way. They had their first date at Tangled Wood in Bettendorf, where they felt instantly connected and comfortable with each other. A few days later they went on their next date in the East Village where they knew this was something more and shared their first kiss. Nick and Molly began to blend their families together supporting each other through all of life's activities. They have enjoyed several trips to Chicago, and Florida, weekends at the lake house, celebrating life's milestones and just spending time together enjoying sporting events, going to concerts, and being with family and friends.

June 23, 2025, during the Dotterer family vacation in Florida everyone prepared for a beachside dinner at Sands on the Beach. This is the families favorite places to go on their annual trip. Heading out for dinner the whole family knew that Nick had got the ring, and brought it on the trip, except Molly!

In true Nick fashion, the proposal was very nonchalant; he tapped Molly on the shoulder and had the ring box open. Molly was oblivious at first until looking down at the ring box and instantly started to tear up.

Of course the answer was an instant YES and cheers of champagne with the whole family!!
