Joseph: Our eyes locked as we both reached for the scrambled eggs. *Sighhhhhh*

Clare: That’s NOT what happened!

Joseph: That’s how I remember it.

Clare: I’m going to tell the real story.

Joseph: Fine, but it sounds less interesting.

Clare: It was Saturday morning and a friend had asked me to eat with her. I said yes and she told me that another friend would be joining.

Joseph: Who is this Rugged, Mysterious, Elusive, person????

Clare: Babe, no interruptions!

Joseph: Alright, I won’t… for a bit

Clare: My friend introduced me to her friend, and I have to admit, I did think he was cute. We talked over breakfast and we made some fun connections. What really struck me though was when he gave me his phone and asked for my number!

Joseph: How forward!

Clare: We ended up hanging out and he layered it on thick! He flirted with me nonstop, but being the emotionally chaste woman I am, I took no interest.

Joseph: You melted like butter!

Clare: I’m sure you thought that. Anyways, after we hung out, I didn’t think much more of him. I went on with my life and assumed he went on with his. It wasn’t until after church one day that he came up to me. In prayer I was feeling very affirmed in my state in life and told the Lord that someone would have to come up and ask me on a “date” otherwise, I wouldn’t give him the time of day. Sure enough, the Lord humored me. After ending my prayer and leaving the church, I was approached and asked on a date!!!

Joseph: I’ve got great timing, what can I say.

Clare: From there we started dating and we fell deeper and deeper in love with each other.

Joseph: I’ll say so! From joining the Army to getting engaged we’ve had a good share of ups and downs.

Clare: No kidding. You joining the Army nine months into dating was a curve ball I wasn't expecting. It was a hard time for both of us doing long distance. After writing letters for four months though, face timing for the next three seemed like such a gift!

Joseph: Amen to that! But it did help us in our discernment of marriage. And from the bottom of our hearts, we’d like to say thank you for all the prayers and support that you’ve all shown us.

Both: We love you all dearly and hope to see you as we celebrate our wedding!
