Once upon a time, two paths crossed unexpectedly in Texas. Shanthi Sanam, from Hyderabad, India, came to America to pursue her Master's degree in Cyber Security and eventually settled in Denton, Texas, in 2022.

She grew up surrounded by a loving family, her parents, Sumalatha and Jojippa, and her brother, Sunny.

Nick McGrath, born in Pennsylvania and the youngest in a large, close-knit family, followed his passion for engineering to Texas after graduating from Penn State.

Both joined a young adults group at a local church, where they would eventually meet. Their first real conversation happened at a friend’s Hanukkah party, where Nick offered to walk Shanthi to her car. They bonded over their shared love for food and family, and soon, Nick asked Shanthi if she’d go on a “real date.” Though it began simply, they both felt something special.

Despite a month-long trip to India where Shanthi nearly met a match, she returned to Nick, choosing him after much prayer and reflection. Their love blossomed, filled with adventure: they explored tulip gardens, went ziplining, and shared countless meals and conversations. Nick introduced Shanthi to his family, who welcomed her warmly, and he knew then she was the one.

On July 6th, surrounded by friends, Nick proposed, and Shanthi said yes. Since then, they’ve built memories and even a business together, preparing for the beautiful journey of marriage. On February 15th, they will be united in holy matrimony in India, embracing their future with joy and love.
