What you need to know before you go!

What’s the wedding attire?

Bermuda is a more formal island so therefore the attire is Beach Formal.

For women this means long dresses. Feel free to have fun with long flowy dresses, and after all you’re on an island so have fun with your colors if you like as well!

For men this means suit and tie/bow tie. Feel free to have fun with suit and/or shirt color as well!

Is the wedding adults only?

Yes the wedding is adults only. While, we absolutely love all your little ones, based on venue capacity and restrictions, we just simply are unable to accommodate them for our events.

Where is Bermuda?

Contrary to what most people think, Bermuda is not part of the Caribbean! It is and island made up of 20.6 square miles, 2 miles at its widest and 22 miles long. It is located about 650 miles east of North Carolina in the western Atlantic Ocean.

Do I need a passport?

Yes! Be sure to check your passport expiration date ASAP! International travel will not allow you to fly anywhere if your passport expires within 6 months of travel. Be sure to submit your passport for renewal ASAP, on average it takes about 12-14 weeks for your passport to come in after submission to the office. We recommend submitting your passport for renewal (if expired or expiring) no later than May 12th, 2021. Per report, the passport office is very behind!

What is the native language?

Bermuda is a British island so the primary spoken language is English!

Do I need to exchange currency?

Nope! Bermuda uses all USD and Bermuda dollars interchangeably! It is recommended to have some USD in cash on you for taxi travel around the island though, as the taxi’s do not have credit card readers!

Is there a time change?

Yes! Bermuda is 1 hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time (if it is 9:00am EST, it’s 10:00am in Bermuda)

Is Bermuda safe?

Yes! Unlike some countries in the Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico, Bermuda is very safe! We absolutely love exploring the island and encourage you to leave your resort and explore everything the tiny island has to offer!

What do I need to know about food and drink?

First thing on everyone’s mind: the tap water is SAFE to drink! 2. The food on this island is INCREDIBLE! Popular local dishes are Bermuda fish chowder with a shot of sherry peppers and Gosling’s Black Seal Rum (absolutely delicious). A codfish and potato breakfast on Sunday, Cassava Pie, any of the fresh Bermuda caught fish, Shark hash, and Conch fritters! 3. Local cocktails: Gosling’s Dark & Stormy, Rum Swizzle, and Black & Coke!

How do I get around the island?

Public transportation is very easily accessible on the island (ie. Taxis and buses). Your hotel concierge is very helpful with coordinating this for you! It is NOT legal to rent a car on the island, however other rental options are available (link provided above). There are daily rentals and rental options for your entire trip. Scooter (pictured above) and Twizzie (very tiny plug-in car also pictured above) rentals are located throughout the island. Keep in mind, Bermuda is British owned, therefore they drive on the LEFT side of the road so please be careful when renting!
