Galen and Olivia

First of all, we would like to thank each and every one of you as you’ve been a big part of our lives as well as our relationship. Before we jump into the story of Galen Cox and Olivia Ross let us introduce ourselves.

Hi everyone my name is Olivia Ross. I am from Lancaster, Ohio and I went to college at Otterbein University where I earned a Bachelors degree in nursing. I worked at the hospital for a little over a year but decided to take a break from nursing. I currently work at Concessions by Cox where Galen has given me the unofficial title of “The Little General."

Hi y’all my name is Galen Cox. I was born in Perry, Georgia (pains me to say it but anyway GO BUCKS)! I attended Butler and Otterbein University for a short time. I ended up earning a degree in the “carney life” from my mother, sister, and most importantly my father who I was blessed to learn so much from before his passing.

Our story will be from the perspective of Galen Cox but do not let that fool you to think I've made this whole website! This is the only other thing I’ve done with wedding planning besides pick the menu but I will take credit if you wish to give me it. Our story begins as every other modern love story would of course with social media. One day I get a follow request on instagram from someone I hadn’t heard of before. When I first saw her I truly thought it was a scam surely no one this angelic that I didn’t know would try and contact a carney such as myself. As I looked through her profile, I saw we had quite a few of the same friends. I didn’t think much more of it because like I said before she was too perfect. About a month goes by and I was tagged in a friends post on snapchat which lead to another social media notification. The Olivia Ross from Instagram had added me. Now I would like to think I have enough modern dating sense to understand she wants me to at least say hello. So that’s just what I did. After three days of building up some courage and multiple drafts of a first text which I finally perfected…… “hey what’s up?” I know, I know, what can I say? Im a hopeless romantic. After a couple days of talking back and fourth I was ready to ask Olivia on a date. Olivia was studying and stressed for her boards exam so I thought “what a perfect time to ask her on a date." Well, I was rejected. But that’s not where our story ends obviously because we made it here right? She told me maybe after her boards exam so I was persistent. I asked her the day after the exam. This time Olivia decided to give me a chance. Our first date was on an early October day. She was outside waiting for me to pick her up. I saw her standing in her black jeans, long sleeve white wooly top, perfect blonde hair, and bright white smile. Surely that couldn’t be her. I didn’t believe it until she waved at me. We went to lunch at a local sushi spot. I really didn’t think through that part since I can’t use chop sticks and ended up having lunch in a primal state of using my fingers instead . Luckily, she was understanding and joined in with me. I think it was mainly to make me feel a little less embarrassed which I appreciated. After lunch we drove up north to this beautiful spot on a cliff that looked over Alum Creek Lake. As I dropped her off , she found out she had passed her exam. I did what every man would’ve done. I told her it was because of me and it was meant to be. After she got out of the car I was excited, hopeful, and just full of life. I found out a couple months later that her friends had told her to go on a second date but that’s besides the point, our journey had began!

The Proposal

If you’ve made it this far this is the time you see some real character development in my romance skills and how I’ve always stayed persistent. After numerous meetings with the jeweler to design the ring and sneaking a lunch with her parents and my mom, I finally had the perfect proposal plan. We were all going to convince her that she was going on a family vacation to Panama City, Florida. Naturally she wanted to invite the life of the party aka me. I said yes of course but that I had to do some things first and would meet down at the beach a couple of days late. She left Ohio driving with her family the day before the surprise proposal. It was planned to take two days to drive down which would give me just enough time to fly down before she arrived. Well that’s what I thought but southwest thought it would be better to have a nationwide flight cancellation epidemic. This left me and my family panicked at two in the morning the day before the proposal. I only had one option which was I woke up everyone and said pack it up we are driving all night to get down there. I know what you are thinking.... That is pretty heroic. It made me dream the whole night I was her knight in shining armor to the rescue as my family drove while I slept. Anyways, between my families dedication and Jennifer Ross's creative detours, we made it there with plenty of time! We made such good time it seemed as if I camouflaged myself into the beach since it only took her ten minutes to realize I was standing there. The only one on the beach but that is for another story. After I had officially promised my life to my true love our families celebrated in traditional beach fashion for the week!

All jokes aside I've known since I met her that I would be looking at her walking down the aisle. It has been an incredible ride and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
