Sorrento
Sorrento is the starting point (or the end) of the Amalfi Coast and I guess that’s kinda what makes it extremely popular, especially during summer. That being said, it is beautiful and one of the easiest and best things to do in the Amalfi Coast. A place with beaches, small walkable streets, great restaurants and shopping!
Visit the Amalfi Towns
The dramatic coastal cliffs of the Amalfi Coast are small, colorful towns that are a delight to explore. Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello are some of the most famous.
Spend Some Time on the Beach
Soaking up the sun on a beach is another wonderful thing to do on the Amalfi Coast. The “beach experience” ranges from free beaches in some towns to exclusive, VIP clubs where you spend up to €500 per day to rent a lounge chair.
Day Trip to Capri
Capri is popular among both tourists and the rich and famous. During your visit make sure you tour the island, visit the Blue Grotto a ride on the chairlift to Monte Solaro for panoramic views, and a bit of shopping in lovely Capri town.
For a trip to Capri from Positano, Amalfi, or Sorrento, you can either take the ferry, join a tour, or hire a private boat.
Naples City
Naples city is worth visiting if you have time. It's home to Maradona Square, Castel dell’Ovo, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius and Pizza Napoletana (Da Michele where Eat, Pray, Love was filmed- if you want to go there make sure you are in line by 11 am).
Must Eat Before you Leave!
The food is amazing! Fresh seafood, pasta, gelato, pizza, wine, limoncello…delicious!
Pizza: Pizza is something you can find all over the world, but Naples is the place where it all began offering the BEST pizza you will ever have!
For those staying in Piano we recommend Pizzeria all'angolo
Baba: When you need to satisfy a sweet tooth, it’s good to be in Naples. For a dessert that truly represents this part of the world, try baba. This small, mushroom-shaped yeast cake is soaked in rum syrup and served with custard or whipped cream and seasonal berries.
Parmigiana di Melanzane: Although some believe eggplant parmesan originated in Naples, this dish is made all over southern Italy, and no one knows for sure from where it originated. Featuring layers of deep-fried sliced eggplant, tomato, basil and two kinds of cheese, this baked casserole takes comfort food to another level.
Mozzarella di Bufala: Are you a cheese lover? If so, one of the best things to buy in Naples is buffalo mozzarella, made from the milk of water buffalos. This cheese is plentiful in the Campania region of Italy. When compared to mozzarella made from cows’ milk, it is softer, more buttery and features a slightly tangy flavor. When dining out in Naples, enjoy buffalo mozzarella on pizza or in calzones or salads.
Limoncello: A popular liqueur in Italy and is traditionally served chilled as an after-dinner digestivo.
