We are so glad to have you be part of our special day! And we would like to send our sincerest gratitude for journeying with us leading to our very special day! Most of all, to being part of our story! If you'd like to go down memory lane and relearn more on how our story began, feel free to read ahead!
It all started from the Environmental Design (ED) Program, or Architecture School - as how most of our family would know it, haha!
Jonathan and I pursued to be in the architecture field in university. We both got accepted into the Environmental Design Program the same year. Started the program on the Fall of 2015, and graduated in June 2018.
As some of our closest friends from our wedding entourage can also attest, going through the ED Program truly was a challenging time. We would undergo multiple criticisms for our design ideas, pulling multiple all-nighters to meet project deadlines - and try to still look alive to do presentations! Though difficult as it may have been, having each other as friends along with our group of friends from the Interior Design stream always made everything better.
Late night paper writing or harsh presentation feedback turned into inside jokes made the times more fun and special; it turned all our situations to a lighter tone! Going through the program is also one of the biggest blessings as it brought us all together - particularly for myself & Jonathan.
With us going through design school, coffee runs were one of our usual routines! With having classes that can run for 3 hours straight, or working on studio projects for 18 hours straight on a school day, no one ever hesitated to come with whenever someone says, "Wanna get coffee?"
Our route from the Russell Building to the Tims at EITC-2 building with hopes to beat the line every time was one of our daily conundrums. Our Tims runs along with our friends kept most of us energized and caffeinated to power through our never-ending deadlines. But alas, the everydays did eventually turn to a countdown until grad. With the graduation day coming up, it's a bittersweet feeling to finally be crossing the finish line, that also meant that we won't be seeing our dearest friends who have become our everyday sunshines anymore.
During our last year in ED, our group of friends managed to claim a whole pod for each of our workstations so that we were close to one another in studio. Jonathan and I so happen to actually sit back-to-back from one another as we powered through all our courses in our last year in the program.
During this year, our group of friends got much closer. It was this year that I started to have a crush on Jonathan, from our frequent bantering over silly details on studio projects, working on schoolwork and reviewing for exams in the studio together.
It wasn't long before graduation did fall on us, and I certainly treasured and valued the last year that I got to spend with the friends I made along the way.
Fast forward to a few weeks after graduation, it so happens that our dear friend Melissa is aware of my strong kilig and developed feelings for Jonathan.
With the days of sitting across from one another long past, Melissa didn't want Jonathan and I to miss out on the chance at one another. So, Melissa hinted at Jonathan through one of their facebook chats. And from that one hint from Melissa, one chat led to another where Jonathan tells me he's hoping to get a sushi craving fixed, and invited me out for sushi.
Well, needless to say, that wasn't the last sushi date we had. One date led to another date, and many more frequent dates thereafter. And, well, the rest is history - which brings us to the present.
