One of the many tasks I have at North includes New Hire Orientation. This is generally once a month and includes going through the various pieces of Technology the crews utilize, radios, and some various other programs. July 26th, 2022. A day that started like any other. I arrived at Education at around 0830 hours, and noticed this gal, sitting in the very front row. She was the prettiest gal I had ever seen to date. I knew I wanted to know more about her, and I think I even referenced her name as examples during my lesson. I left that day pondering what her story was, and how I could find out more...

Fast forward to September 26th... I had walked out to the garage to see my friend Elle. As we walked around a corner, there was Rachel. It so happened that Elle was her partner for the day. I was trying to keep my composure, but internally I was super excited as I knew Elle would be able to gather more information for me! Later on that evening, I was bringing my friend Tom back to the Airport. Right as we dropped him off, I received a text with information from Elle. All of the boxes were checking off, and I was super excited! Little did Rachel know, I was super interested in her! Wednesday the 28th, Elle, Rachel. and myself planned dinner. Earlier on in the day, Elle said she conveniently wouldn't be able to make it to dinner. I saw Rachel, and asked her if she wanted to still go. She still said yes! After work, I knew I wouldn't have time to run home, so I stopped at Target, got a new polo shirt and some deodorant. I had to make a good first impression. We went to dinner at The Block in St. Louis Park. A fine place, and dinner went very well! We really hit it off, and I was happy, and it seemed Rachel was happy too! The rest truly is history!

September 28th, 2022. I was working a shift at North Memorial Ambulance. My partner that day was Ellen Vezina.

She was asking me lots of questions; what kind of music do you like and what do you do in your spare time? Pretty normal to get to know a new partner right? But little did I know, she was gathering intel for Ryan.

I knew of this guy. He did a presentation on radios while I was going through orientation a few weeks back. I often see him around the garage talking to everyone. He seemed really nice and helpful.

I got back to the garage that afternoon and Ryan comes up to me. He asks me what I'm doing after work. He asks me out to supper. I'm like sure. I call him after my shift to figure out the details and the rest is history!
