When turning off Green Bay Road onto Pine Street, go over the bridge and make an immediate right onto Killian Court. This one-way street will lead to the large Village Parking Lot. There is another entrance to the Village Lot off of Lincoln Avenue. Look for the wood archway shown in the photo below to get to the Gardens and Entrance 4.

Home Alone House
See the exterior of the famous house from Home Alone. Unfortunately, it is a private residence, so you cannot go inside.
Chicago Botanic Garden
Located in Glencoe, the Chicago Botanic Garden spans 385 acres of landscaped gardens, lakes, picnic spots, and natural areas. In July, visitors can see summer blooms, explore walking paths, and visit the Nature Play Garden for children.

From Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Highland Park/Northbrook it’s just about a 5‑ to 10‑minute drive (or roughly a mile), and from Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel in Northbrook it’s around 1–2 miles — a quick 5–10 minute drive depending on traffic.
Ravinia Festival
Ravinia Festival is North America's oldest outdoor music festival, located in Highland Park, IL, and known for its diverse summer programming. It is home to the annual residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and features a wide variety of artists in pop, rock, jazz, and other genres, hosted in a 36-acre park with venues including the main Pavilion and a large lawn for picnicking. Check out their website closer to the dates you will be in town to see what shows are on the calendar. The Ravinia 2025 lineup featured many artists, including major headliners like Cynthia Erivo, Lenny Kravitz, Janelle Monáe, Maren Morris, John Legend. and Beck. Returning performers included James Taylor, The Roots, and Earth, Wind & Fire, while newcomers to the festival featured acts like Kygo, Nas, and Juanes.

If you are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Highland Park/Northbrook: The hotel is located just steps from the Braeside Metra Station on the Union Pacific North Line. Train travel to downtown Chicago (Ogilvie Transportation Center) typically takes about 35–40 minutes.
If you are staying at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel: The closest station is the Glencoe Metra Station, located about a 12–15 minute walk from the hotel, or a very quick Uber/Lyft ride. Train travel to downtown Chicago typically takes about 30–35 minutes.
Both stations offer parking as well as a direct service to and from downtown Chicago. You would be dropped off at the Ogilvie Transportation Center, which is right in the thick of the Chicago Downtown Loop We recommend checking the Metra schedule in advance to plan your trip smoothly, especially for late-night returns.
To buy tickets, either download the Ventra app and create an account or purchase tickets on board from an attendant. Day passes typically run abotu $11/ person.
