Our meeting each other was a stroke of luck. In July 2021 we had matched on Hinge, and had been chatting back and forth for about a week. Unfortunately I (Ryan) had a small technical mishap when I reset my phone, and I accidentally deleted my Hinge profile when I tried to log back in after resetting my password. This erased my one and only match, Julia. In desperation, I set up my profile the exact same way, and tried to remember the different people I swiped left and right on to game the algorithm into matching us again, low and behold, it worked. I messaged her that I apologized, that I didn't un-match her out of the blue and I was just an idiot and didn't read the button I pressed. She warily accepted my story and we continued talking before having our first date in August at a local sushi restaurant. We spent the following 3 years getting to know each other better and spending quality time playing board games, watching movies, hitting the gym, going to the shooting range, traveling long distance, and spending countless hours laying on the couch. On new years 2024, Julia mentioned she wanted to get engaged, and something clicked in that moment. Fast forward a few months and after purchasing my first house, I (Ryan) popped the question while Julia was cooking and tending to the cat claw marks on her hands. Thankfully, she said yes, and here we are!
