It was on a warm September evening when the University hosted a clubs meet-and greet event. Shannon, a new President of a club, was excited to get some new members signed on. With mild success, clubs started to pack up early and Shannon followed suit.

"What a shame people are packing up early. What if I wanted to join a club... like THIS one?!" Shannon turned around to see Claire, who was still visiting all the club booths. Shannon scrambled to get the sign-up sheet for the potential new member. Claire only meant to poke fun at the girl and wasn’t meaning to actually sign up ... but what choice did she have now?

The following week, Claire made her way to the club - thinking she would just check it out the one time. That changed when she saw Shannon introduce herself to all the new people of the club. Claire immediately became entranced. Shannon, trying to be friendly to everyone, was oblivious to this.

Claire continued to attend the meetings, and they continued to run into each other. Claire was sure this girl was flirting with her - she was not - and started to develop feelings.

October came and Shannon asked the members who was going to a Super Smash Bros. tournament that was happening soon. Claire replied she was. At the event Shannon was excited to see Claire - she always loves to meet fans of the game she likes to play. "What's your favorite character to play?" Shannon asked Claire at the event. Claire embarrassingly admitted she didn't just not have a favorite character; she didn't even know how to play the game. Shannon realized Claire was flirting with her - her feelings started to grow.

Feelings blossomed on both sides the more the two hung out. So much so, Shannon just had to ask Claire out or else she might explode. She crafted a letter full of puns and agonizingly waited 24 hours. The next day after club, Shannon pulled Claire aside and held the card out to her: "Claire, are you the date? Because you're a 10/10... will you be my Claire Bear?"
