Our Wedding

It was 2 years ago that our love story began, and honestly I never expected any of this to happen! But Gods plans for are lives are so amazing and unimaginable! We’ve been blessed beyond belief to fall in love with each other! We are best friends, equal partners, soul mates. I was just a fresh high school graduate looking for a job to help pay for school. Julio was a college student recently promoted to floor supervisor. May of 2016 would be when our paths would cross and our lives would be forever changed. At first the job was normal. We met on my first day he was being trained on how to complete on boarding paperwork with new hires and well, I was the new hire. I was very quiet and shy. I would show up, complete my projects, help customers, ask questions when I needed help and then just leave when my shift ended. Suddenly my schedule began to form a trend, one that I didn’t notice at first. All of my shifts were with Julio.... I was either opening with Julio or closing with Julio I was always working they same shifts as him. The next change that came was that I then became his project girl. Normally I would do projects for whichever manager asks first each shift and get to work with different managers but that began to change. Julio began to be quick to pick me and ask me to work on a project for(or with I should say) him each shift. This was a very clever tactic on my sweet fiancés part I have to say. By doing this he would conjure up all kinds of conversations getting me to open up and be comfortable with him. Allowing him to get to know me and I him. See what I didn’t know was while I was focused on school and work and nothing more he saw something in me that made him want to know more. As time passed a work friendship you could say sort of grew. I became comfortable working and talking with him like it was part of our normal routine. Once he knew I was comfortable and was opening up he took it a step further. He began to text me each week when making the schedule to “see if I needed to request any days off for the next week.” Of course the conversation never ended there. Well at first they did but slowly he would work his way towards keeping the texts going. At this point ive picked up on all the trends and tricks lol. But we continued to work and our friendship continued to grow even though some coworkers began to dislike the situation saying I was gaining a bit of favoritism... which let’s be honest I was. Anyways as time passed Julio became bold. He asked me out to dinner to which my reply was.... “No. You’re my boss and I need this job.” He then waited some time and asked me to lunch to which I said... “no” Even though I was rejecting his date requests I was actually flattered and crushing a little, something I never wanted to admit. Plus I knew my father would never let me just go on a date with my boss a guy he doesn’t even know. So anyways time again passes by and of course he asks for another date, but this time he asks me to go out for breakfast before our shift. To which of course I replied, “are you crazy?!? That is WAY too early! If I said no to lunch I’m definitely not going to breakfast!” Lol a little brutal I know! But even though I rejected him three times my sweet man did not give up! He was determined so much so that he would taunt me and tell me that one day I’ll be Mrs. Garcia just wait and see. When I would sign receipts he would say you can just sign Garcia. He was soo confident that he would win me over and I would blatantly tell him to his face that he was crazy! I mean I definitely had feelings for him but I never thought in a million years that I would find the man I would marry at the job I work while in school. I certainly never thought I would marry my supervisor. Well one of our opening shifts together my sweet fiancé shows up with one red rose and asks me if I will be his date to his best friends wedding. A wedding he’s been telling me about for months now. At this point I can’t say no! I want to go! So this meant it was time to talk to my dad and bring him to meet the family and thats what we did. He began to come over and spend time with my family. My father laid down the law and told him his expectations if Julio were to want my fathers permission to date me in the future. So we went on our first date to the wedding and had the most amazing time! Before I knew it it was about a month later and we were sitting at my kitchen table as he asked my parents permission to formally date me. He immediately became apart of the family! It was clear we were matched and that this was no coincidence. He was immediately such a blessing to my family and we couldn’t imagine what life was like before him. He quickly met all the family members and went down the line of approval. And every day for two years he showed the immense love and dedication he has for me and my family! He showed my parents that he will do anything for me that he will always care for me love me protect me and cherish me. He has spoiled me beyond belief and shown me a love fairytales can’t touch! He has shown what a true Prince Charming should and has to offer and its more than what us girls have in mind that we are trying to settle for. My parents once again listed their expectations for him if should want their permission for my hand in marriage and he immediately took the initiative to check every box on their list. He then planned along side my parents and extended family the sweetest and most meaningful proposal! A proposal that took me by suprise and made my heart beat so fast I felt like everyone could hear it. A proposal with such intricate and intimate details that took my breath away and filled me with so much joy to know how loved and blessed I am. He came back to my home town with me for my little cousins graduation. I was able to show him around the city where I grew up which was so special for me to share those moments with him. But never did I expect that the celebration dinner for my baby cousins graduation would actually be a suprise proposal for me. To share such a special day with one of my closest friends from birth my little cousin. And to be proposed to and have an engagement party in the same restaurant that my aunt had her wedding reception in was sooo special. But the icing on the cake was definitely the fact that he proposed to me with the ring my father proposed to my mother with. So i will forever be able to have her and their love with me. It was the most amazing and perfect day! To be able to say yes to marrying my best friend infront of all of my family was just so incredible! So I guess at the end of the day even though on that very first day, May 12th 2016, we met we never imagined falling in love and getting married God had bigger plans. My sweet man realized it before I did and he was right I will be Mrs. Garcia! I can’t wait to see what else the Lord has planned for our life together!
