Like every modern love story, Tara & Michael met while swiping through Hinge. They initially connected by talking about their favorite Irish bars around Cleveland. Tara made the first move by suggesting they have a drink at one of their favorites, Gormley’s, and they’ve been talking ever since.


After a few months of telling everyone they were “special friends,” Michael made things official by flipping Tara’s claddagh ring after a few pints at Public House.


They would spend the next year and a half living at their childhood homes where spending time together consisted of playing Xbox with the O’Malley brothers and watching The Five with Mr. Byrne. While it wasn’t the ideal dating situation for 25 year olds, it made their relationship stronger, not only with each other, but with their families too!


They spent quality time together by going on dates for food and drinks nearly every weekend and planning surprise date nights. Some of their favorites include Cleveland sporting events, comedians, concerts and dinners at Il Rione, Luca and Tyme x Table.


On April 1, 2023, Michael and Tara’s bestie and Matron of Honor, Kait, had Tara convinced she was going on a double date for margs but Michael had bigger plans. He suggested they take a walk past the entrance of the restaurant on a brisk and windy April day and popped the question shortly after. Tara immediately said “yes, and they spent the evening celebrating with family and friends. They ended that night at yet another Irish bar, PJ McIntyres.


Right before their engagement, Tara and Michael found a cozy little house in Lakewood and have quickly turned it into their home. They now spend their time cooking, porch sitting, walking through Lakewood and watching endless episodes of reality TV together.
