Jake and Taylor’s journey began at the start of their freshman year at Oklahoma State University. They both got involved in Greek life and Jake introduced himself to Taylor at a social event. The two instantly became amazing friends and started to hang out frequently watching movies, getting ice cream, and playing basketball together. The fun rolled into the summer as Taylor and Jake worked together at a kids' camp. Taylor helped Jake with his summer classes and this is where he started to develop strong feelings. As the summer went on, Jake and Taylor got snow cones and went shopping, but it wasn’t until July that Taylor began to develop feelings. July 4th was a special day that would change Jake and Taylor's friendship forever. Taylor had a family firework show that Jake attended. The two talked all night, shooting fireworks together, eating food, and playing with water guns. After the show was over Taylor and Jake expressed their feelings for one another. The next day, Jake took Taylor on a romantic painting date by Lake Hefner and the two began dating. Jake and Taylor began growing closer not only to each other but to Christ. They trusted in the Lord’s plan during the ups and downs that life brings and made many fun memories together.

After almost two years, Jake got down on one knee and asked, as he says, “the most beautiful girl in the world” to marry him. Taylor said yes! As the two take this time to plan their wedding they thank the Lord everyday that He gave them such a wonderful person to go through life with. They are extremely excited for what is to come!
