Our love story started before Taylore even knew of my existence. I somehow came across her on Instagram and would tell my friends jokingly that she would be the girl I would marry. I should start joking a lot more...
I like to say that throughout our time at Samford Taylore and I were "friendly acquaintances". We knew who each other were and would always have good interactions when talking with one another, but it never was anything more (even though I wanted it to be but knew she was so far out of my league...and still is very much so).
After college, I happened to be on Samford's campus for a graduation. I saw Taylore and did the most brave and confident thing I've ever done...asked her to dinner. It was on a complete whim and even looking back I still don't know how I played it cool (I probably didn't). Anyway, this was right before the holidays, so we said we would make official plans once we got back. Taylore reached out to me, and I was shocked that she had so much time to cancel and didn't hahaha.
Our first date was on a cold day in January at Trattoria ZaZa. We talked for hours and I left feeling like I had never before. I was bought in on Taylore. I remembered leaving the date thinking I could totally see myself marrying this girl. From that first date, my thoughts have remained the same.
Being with Taylore is the best gift I could ever ask for. I love our laughs, deep talks, and everything else in between. Knowing that I get to spend forever with her is a clear testament to the Lord's favor and kindness towards us. We are so excited to embark on this journey that is marriage, and that we have such an incredible community alongside us. October 19th will be such a beautiful beginning of a loving and lasting marriage. We can't wait to start it with all of our favorite people!
