Jaylon and Theda met in 2019 on an accident scene. They weren't distracted by each other but kept it very professional and done the job they were sent there to do. They both have worked in public safety for most of their adult lives. They crossed paths many times, never saying more than two words to each other. In 2023 they both began praying for God's will in their lives. This took a lot of trusting in the Lord, praying, and it came with a lot of loss. They had no idea that the gain would be much greater than their losses. They both separately participated in fasting and praying. Not for a partner, but they prayed for God's will for their life. On a warm and starry night of February 2024, Theda reached out to Jaylon to ask him a question about work. Little did they know that the very next day would change their lives forever. Jaylon drove to Theda's house after she repeatedly joked that he wouldn't show up. Well, the day he walked in her house, it was an instant comfortable, calming, and inevitable feeling between them both. They immediately clicked and smiled bigger than they had in years. Theda kept telling him to not be afraid of her as she could see that he was already falling too. Fastforward two weeks later and little did she know that he was already looking at rings. In those two weeks the couple talked about their past trauma, their childhood, religion, about their children they had in separate relationships, mental illness, favorite foods, politics, you name it, and it was discussed. They quickly learned nearly every detail about each other. No topic was off limits between the two. They were so eager to learn more about one another. On February 23rd they begin dating and only 26 days later Jaylon popped the question. Their first date Theda took Jaylon to ride dirt roads around her hometown and asked him to dance with her in the headlights of the car. So, on March 20th, 2024, Jaylon requested their date night be another dirt road riding night. After a couple hours of riding, Jaylon asked her to take them to the place they and danced before because he wanted to dance again. She insisted that she would pull over anywhere to dance. He said it was a pretty spot and asked to go to that specific spot, and so they did. After three songs, Theda started to walk back to her car. Jaylon followed, then he turned around and went back to the front of the car in front of the headlights. There he got on one knee and she couldn't believe her eyes. She stood at her car door and looked at him in disbelief. He said calmly, "Are you going to come here?" With tears flowing down her cheeks, she walked up to him to give the easiest "yes!" she had ever given to someone. There has never been a doubt since the first moment of them talking that this was true and pure love. Every little girl has a vision of a boy/man she wants to be with. Jaylon checks every single box for Theda. She even found an old diary and showed him a passage that she had written years ago about what she wanted in a man. He was just as shocked at how perfectly it described him. These two were going through one of the toughest times of their life in late 2023. For them to stay persistent and keeping faith in the Lord, they both were sure this was His reward. Every day is so easy. While they are faced with trials and curve balls that life throws, they both keep each other first and remember that it is always them against the problem, not them against each other. They have created a family and set goals that align with their dreams. They keep God first always and never let their praying knees get lazy. God said he will give you better than what you lost if you trust in Him. Boy, does God know what we need before we do.
