It all started May 2019 when I was scrolling through Snapchat and saw my line sister, Nisha (Bridesmaid) living her best life on vacation in San Juan. As I tapped through her story, I ran across a group picture and me being the private investigator that I am, I stopped to scan the picture to see who all she was out of the country with. When I spotted Tim my first thoughts were "Well who is this?" I politely screenshot the picture and circled his face and sent it right to Nisha asking who he was. He wasn't even looking at the camera (and was kind of far in the background) so I was officially a creep in Nisha's eyes lol. Once they returned from vacation, Nisha gave Tim my Snapchat info and we started talking from there.
We talked on Snapchat for a short period of time before we exchanged numbers. (He told me later that he was playing hard to get but I couldn't tell how he kept checking for me.) We finally met in person June 2019 in Atlanta which was only supposed to be a fun weekend link up. He told me that he had just recently moved to Kentucky for work so in my mind it definitely wasn't going anywhere with us, so I thought. Next thing I knew I was on a flight to Kentucky the very next month.
He traveled to visit me in August and also met my parents that weekend. He says that's when we started dating in his eyes but I told him I'm old school I need you to ASK ME. With that being said, we OFFICIALLY started dating October 18th when he asked me while out celebrating my birthday.
We did the long distance thing for a while and then COVID made its grand entrance mid March 2020. Tim drove from Kentucky to Alabama to spend his birthday with me since the world was shut down and we couldn't go anywhere. My job had officially announced that we were going 100% virtual for the remainder of the school year so when it was time for Tim to drive back to Kentucky guess who hopped on the passenger side with her work laptop, a duffel bag, and no return home date? ME! I was living my best life in Kentucky for the next 3 weeks....so good that 9 months later here came Tristan Jace.
We have been doing this love thing ever since and are now coming up on year 5 of dating and can't wait to get married and see where this adventure takes us!
I was on a cruise May 2019 when Nisha said “uhh ohh Tim my line sister asking about you.“ I was in my prime so I really didn’t pay it too much attention, but of course I asked what she look like. She showed me and I said yea give her my info I’ll hit her up next week. I sent her a message probably the next hour. We laughed, we joked, we met a month later June 2019 in Atlanta. She probably thought I was going ghost but I liked her vibe. I told her to come to Kentucky jokingly, but serious. She said okay, booked her ticket and came. I knew I was marrying her that moment. She came to Kentucky to my bachelors pad and complained about everything.
Next month I found myself driving from Louisville, Kentucky to Phenix City, AL (the COUNTRY.) We were in Walmart so she could make her world famous brownies for me when we bumped into her mom. In my mind I'm thinking oh boy It just got serious, once I meet the parents we dating. On August 18th we went to their house and I met her dad and brothers and their F250s (I’m still waiting on mine I’m in the family now). That’s when we started dating but she said “No you have to ask me I’m Old School”. So I waited, as time went on October came around and we celebrated JT’s birthday and I officially asked her to be my Girlfriend.
We dated “long distance” for a while even though I was burning gas every other week. Then Covid shut the world down around March 2020 and I came down to celebrate my birthday with JT because my job was shut down for a week. When it was time for me to go back I noticed she was packed and ready too with her laptop because her school had went virtual. I was glad; I had been in Kentucky a whole year by myself and I enjoyed the company. I enjoyed that company a little too much because 9 months later we welcomed TJ in the world.
I always thank Covid for that special time together that strengthened our bond and brought us closer. So close that we’re coming up on year 5. Next up is Marriage and I’m excited for our love journey.
