Valentina and Mike - well first Valentina, and with a lot of persuasion then Mike, decided to pick Charleston, SC as the destination of their wedding for a few reasons:

1. Charleston holds a very special place in Valentina's heart since this city welcomed her and her mom to the US in 2010.

2. Charleston remains Valentina family's hometown

3. It is in the middle between Colombia & Pennsylvania.

4. Valentina needs some warmth in her life, since she will spending a lot of time in cold Pennsylvania.

5. For its charm and beauty. Charleston has been named the #1 city in the US for the 11th year in a row!

Regardless of what you enjoy doing, you will find a lot of activities to do in Charleston & its surroundings. Below are some things you can do while visiting Charleston:

- Walk around downtown Charleston

- Go shopping in King Street

- Visit one of the 6 beaches - Isle of Palms & Sullivan island are the closest ones to Mount Pleasant

- Tour Fort Sumter National Monument

- Go to Shem Creek for food and drinks

- Walk across the Copper River Bridge

- Tour Boone Hall Plantation - Some scenes of The Notebook were filmed there

- Visit Angel Oak - largest Live Oak Tree east of the Mississippi
