OUR STORY

Miguel and Vanessa have been knowing each other for close to 8 years. They met over social media and continued to get to know each other. In May 2018, Miguel decided to ask Vanessa to be his girlfriend on the day after her high school graduation, and she happily said yes. After a couple of months of being together, dating and courting one another, they started to get to know each other and really experience what it was like to be with someone else. They were young, and at the beginning of the relationship, they started to figure out each other's weaknesses and strengths. Couple years in they began experiencing strife in their lives, separation, selfishness, and a lot of things that people experience, and after so many trials in their relationship, it began weighing down on them and ended. Miguel began searching for answers through mentorships and self-help books, trying to be better for Vanessa, and after many tries, he kept failing at being the man that God had called him to be. At this time, Miguel didn't realize that the Lord was calling his heart. He wasn't a firm believer in God. Miguel was going to school in Waco, Texas, at TSTC, experiencing more strife. He came about wanting to learn about God's angels and began asking his boss and friends about it, and after they ran out of answers for him. He bought a Bible to seek answers. The first thing he read was about giving his life to Christ, and he did so, believing in his heart. Miguel never sought to find a spiritual leader and later moved back to Corsicana, his hometown. Vanessa and Miguel maintained a friendship, and they had always felt a pull towards one another, so they couldn't just stay friends. He began working for a septic company as a septic inspector after meeting so many believers in the countryside. He prayed that the Lord reveal the only truth and not people's personal truths. Miguel came across a man, Jeffrey Trojacek, who began pouring into him about God and invited him to a bible study where Miguel began learning about Andrew Wommack's teachings. This gave him a solid foundation and heart towards the Lord. With this being said, Miguel reconnected with Vanessa, and she could tell something was different about him (In a good way). And for months, Miguel continued growing in the Word and chased after the Father's heart.

Vanessa had been patient and had also prayed, "If Miguel is the man for me, then place him back into my life." While Miguel was deepening his walk with God, Vanessa was in a season of focusing on herself and navigating what was next in her life. Vanessa had just finished university in the fall of 2023 and moved back with her parents to Corsicana. As the new year of 2024 began, Vanessa applied to hundreds of jobs, but after months of searching, she began to feel discouraged and unmotivated. She wasn't getting any offers. She would pray and ask God to place her in the right position and to grow her career in the direction He intended for her life. Eventually, she received a job offer as an e-commerce coordinator for a startup print-on-demand company in Arlington, Texas. Grateful for the opportunity, Vanessa committed to the role and began commuting. However, over time, she began to feel empty, and the work environment proved to be toxic. Though she sensed there was something more for her, she remained faithful and continued working. During this time, Miguel had introduced her to Andrew Wommack's teachings, which she began listening to in the background of her daily life. While curious, Vanessa remained skeptical, coming from a Catholic background and struggling to let go of tradition and religion. Eventually, she found herself praying again—asking God to lead her to a nonprofit where she could use her marketing skills to make a greater impact. Shortly after, she felt led to apply to Andrew Wommack Ministries. Initially discouraged by past rejections and low motivation, she didn’t expect much. But when she came across the job description, it felt like a perfect fit for both her skills and her heart for meaningful work. Feeling a sense of peace, Vanessa applied and left it in God’s hands. Not long after, she was offered the position she had been praying for. At that point, Vanessa stood at a crossroads—choosing between comfort and familiarity, or stepping out in faith into the unknown God was leading her into. Vanessa moved and began her work at the ministry. While Miguel attended Charis Bible College, transforming his life. Vanessa later attended CBC, and both have been renewed and deepening their relationship with God. Miguel wanted to marry Vanessa ASAP! So he prepared and proposed to Vanessa after she got back from a Texas family trip. He proposed on her birthday! Afterwards, they celebrated with some mini golf! Now Miguel has graduated from the second year of Charis Bible College and plans to attend a third year for Business school, while growing his relationship with God.
