Zach and I met in October of 2021. His roommate, Liam was dating my friend, Rachel. She and I went to one of Liams football games one Saturday and after the game was done, we went down to the field to say hi and he introduced us to his roommate, Zach. Later that night, Liam texted me Zachs information and told me that he thought I should give him a shot and that he was a really nice guy. I hesitated a bit, and then I texted him. The next few nights we hung out and got to know each other! A few days later we went to a Vikings game and ended up deciding to drive back the same night in order to make it to classes the next day. I volunteered to drive because I had the latest class, and Zach stayed up with me until I knew where I was and felt comfortable driving. That is when I knew I really liked him, and the next day, November 1st, he asked me to be his girlfriend! Over the next few months, we kept hanging out and got closer and closer, until we were far away. When the school year ended I decided to move back home to California after struggling a bit in school and not having a good idea what I wanted to do next. I moved towards the beginning of July of 2022 and we stared our long distance journey. What was supposed to be a semester turned into a year and that turned into two years. It was the hardest thing we ever did but WE DID IT! A lot of tears, anxiety, trust, and faith later, God brought us to the other side! In May of 2024 I moved back up to Iowa and by the grace of God we were closer than ever and had the best relationship! We started talking more realistically about our future and fast forward a few months, we now get to actually plan it!! He proposed on January 3rd at Disneyland in front of the giant Christmas tree (my favorite thing EVER). My whole family was there and it was the sweetest thing.
