The Introduction:

A'Kara and Brandon were introduced to each other by A'Kara's best friend, Elaysha, who worked with Brandon.

A'Kara's Perspective:

Elaysha and A'Kara were on a group facetime call with some of their sorority sisters when Elaysha stated "A'Kara I have somebody for you, but I don't know. He's a good man you can't break his heart" and laughs. A'Kara told Elaysha she cold give Brandon her Instagram. Shortly after Brandon did the casual "sliding into the DM's" landing him a first date.

Brandon's Perspective:

Elaysha and Brandon worked together and Elaysha said she had the perfect girl for him. Even though Brandon refused, Elaysha insisted that she had a great track record when it came to matchmaking. Days later, Elaysha sent Brandon a text out of the blue asking how tall he was. After getting over his confusion, he responded and received a link to A'Kara's Instagram page. When Brandon saw that she was not only beautiful but played the harp, he knew there was something different about her and proceeded to hop in her DM's.

The First Conversation:

Their very first conversation A'Kara and Brandon talked on the phone for 3 hours straight, full of constant conversation and laughter. This first conversation was the highlight for both of them, they knew that they were off to a great start of something that might just last forever. As they finished their long, but enjoyable conversation, Brandon ends the call with "can I pray for you". What an amazing God fearing man!!

The First Date:

At the time A'Kara was working as a traveling nurse in Elkhart, Indiana. A cold and boring town. Brandon drove 4 hours to Elkhart to take A'Kara on their first date. The date was amazing! Brandon listened to all the things A'Kara mentioned that she liked and planned the perfect first date. They went to the botanical gardens to see the Christmas lights, the comic museum, to dinner to get A'Kara's favorite meal at the time, and watched a movie with wine and cookies! Brandon kept A'Kara laughing the entire date. She could tell he was very intentional and emotionally present on their date. This was the best date A'Kara had ever been on.

The Proposal:

When Brandon made the decision to propose, he thought the best place and time to do it was on the family vacation in Hilton Head Island, SC. This was the first time that his family and her family would be meeting together. The families were aware of the proposal and helped to execute the proposal day. Her family decorated the house and his family made the proposal dinner.

The day of the proposal, Brandon took A'Kara on a dolphin cruise and then to the Coastal Discovery Museum. Brandon took A'Kara all around the museum anxiously waiting for Johnathan (future brother in-law) to show up to take pictures of the proposal. When the signal was given, Brandon took A'Kara into the butterfly garden and got down on one knee to ask her to spend the rest of her life with him.
