Our Story

It all started with an accidental Snapchat add in 2017. Aamir was a freshman at McKendree University, and Serenity was attending Illinois College. One random day, through a mutual acquaintances phone, Serenity unknowingly added Aamir on Snapchat. Not one to miss an opportunity, Aamir slid up on one of Serenitys stories, and that’s when our journey began.

At the time, we both decided to be “just friends.” But, as time went on, it became clear that fate had other plans. We spent that first year without any labels, but deep down, we both knew we were meant to be each others endgame.

For four years, we made long distance work, sharing laughter, love, and countless video calls from Chicago to Edwardsville. In 2021, we finally closed the distance and moved in together in Chicago. That same year, Aamir officially became part of our little family by adopting Serenity’s dog, Ice.

Fast forward to November 2023, we got engaged in the most magical place on Earth—Orlando, Florida—surrounded by the love and excitement of starting the rest of our lives together.

Over time, we’ve grown to share many of the things we love: Marvel movies, football Sundays, cigars, travel, ice cream, and being foodies who are always on the hunt for the next great meal. Serenity, the church girl from small-town Edwardsville, IL, and Aamir, the city boy from Chicago, couldn’t be more different on the surface, but it’s those differences (and our shared loves) that make us perfect for each other.
