Our Wedding

It all started in Las Vegas, where Aanika agreed to a first date with Matthew after a mutual friend's recommendation. They met at Maggiano's in downtown Summerlin, where they ate a fabulous meal and then walked until late in the night. They didn’t stop talking the entire time. At the end of the night Matt told Aanika it was his last first date. Obviously, there was an undeniable spark.  After three wonderful years together, Matthew planned the most intimate proposal. With help from the maid of honor, Chesney, on April 13th, 2024, Matthew surprised Aanika. After a family dinner was over and everyone “went home” Matthew asked Aanika to be his forever. They were surrounded by both their families and their puppies, Kiki & Lottie. Matthew & Keldan worked all afternoon to make the backyard of the house the perfect site for “will you marry me?” Aanika was very surprised and behind a whole lot of happy tears said “YES!” What makes their love so special is the deep foundation of faith, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. With strong family values and a commitment to grow together and as individuals, Aanika and Matthew’s love is one that will only continue to strengthen with time. They enjoy the outdoors, time with family & friends, their puppies, travel, laughter, grilling & entertaining. Matthew is a Las Vegas native and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 2015. His parents, Brian & Kelli Fike and younger sister Gabbi live in Vegas. His older sister Alex and her husband Ryan live and work in Sacremento, CA. Aanika is a native of Walla Walla, WA, and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 2020. Her parents, Peter & Anne Swant, live in Walla Walla, WA, as well as her older brother Brandon & his wife Lacy, and nephews Landon & Liam, older sister Brittany & her nieces Alanah & Berkley (Brittany is getting married in September to Brandon Gianotti). Her older brother Forrest also lives in Walla Walla. Finally, her brother Keldan lives with her in Las Vegas.

If you are flying in for the wedding I would highly recommend flying into the Pasco WA airport. It is right outside of Walla Walla and the flights are significantly cheaper than flying into Walla Walla. Allegiant Airline is a great option for those flying out of Las Vegas. Allegiant has a direct (2hr) flight on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Swant family is happy to pre-arrange pick up from the Pasco Airport to Walla Walla for any guests not renting a car.
